Sustainability - birrificio del ducato
Brewing beer,
using less
Brewing beer means using water, energy, and raw materials. That is why, for us, sustainability starts with a very simple question: how can we brew better while using less? Since 2020, we have been working in a structured way on the efficiency of our processes—monitoring consumption, reducing waste, and investing in solutions that lower the impact of production. We are not interested in talking about sustainability through good intentions. We prefer to measure it through concrete results. And these are the ones achieved so far.
OUR IMPACT IN NUMBERS
reducing CO₂
-53%
CO₂
2022 → 2025
Between 2022 and 2025, we reduced our CO₂ emissions from 569 to 300 tons, achieving an overall decrease of 53%.
A result achieved three years ahead of our target.
This is the outcome of a series of interventions on energy efficiency and production processes. Above all, it confirms that working more efficiently also means concretely reducing our impact.
This is not the finish line. It is a milestone to keep building upon.

54%
OF OUR ENERGY NEEDS
In 2023, we installed a 229 kW photovoltaic system, utilizing the entire available roof surface of the brewery facility.
In 2025, the system produced 255,000 kWh of electricity, enough to cover approximately 54% of the brewery’s total energy demand.
The energy generated is used first and foremost for our operations: 70% is self-consumed directly on-site, while the remaining 30% is fed back into the grid as renewable energy.
WATER: EVERY LITER COUNTS
Water is one of the fundamental resources for brewing beer. That is why we work both on the amount used in production processes and on wastewater treatment before returning it to the environment.
Reducing consumption means optimizing processes, identifying waste, and making every stage of production more efficient.

EFFICIENCY STARTS WITH PROCESSES
Reducing energy consumption is not just about producing energy from renewable sources. It also means needing less energy to brew the same beer.
In 2024, we launched a dedicated study on LPG consumption linked to industrial steam production. We analyzed processes, reduced downtime, and optimized equipment operations. The result was a significant reduction in energy consumption and associated production emissions.
To us, efficiency means exactly this: taking action where we can consume less, without ever compromising the quality of our beer.
NEXT STEPS
WE’RE NOT DONE YET
Reducing our impact isn’t a project with an end date. It is an ongoing journey that evolves alongside the brewery. That is why we have already identified new initiatives to work on.
BREWING BETTER,
TODAY AND TOMORROW
Brewing beer is our passion and our craft. Doing so while making better use of resources is a responsibility we have chosen to embrace. Less consumption, lower emissions, higher efficiency. A journey built on concrete actions, measurable results, and new goals to achieve.
