the origins
Birrificio del Ducato is born in Roncole Verdi. The first beer produced is ViaEmilia, destined to become the symbol of the brewery. In 2008, Verdi Imperial Stout won the first gold medal ever achieved by an Italian beer abroad, writing a historic page for Italian brewing.
Growth and Recognition
These are years of development, experimentation, and new recipes.
Ducato collects awards in the main national and international competitions, while Roncole Verdi becomes the brewery’s dedicated sour laboratory, anticipating trends that would later set the standard.
soragna, a new beginning
On September 4th, 2015, the Soragna brewery was inaugurated with a double brew of California Sun. On the same day, Fiorenzuola d’Arda, which until then had hosted the main production as a “bridge” site, was closed, while Roncole Verdi was definitively dedicated to sour beers. From that moment, Soragna became the beating heart of production.
Joining Duvel Moortgat group
The brewery becomes part of the Belgian group Duvel Moortgat.
A partnership that brings new resources and opportunities, while respecting the craft identity that has always defined us.
Consolidation and Innovation
The acquisition of 100% of the shares by Duvel Moortgat, new international awards, renewed facilities, the expansion of the analysis laboratory, rebranding, and strategic commercial partnerships strengthen Ducato’s role as an ambassador of craft beer in Italy and abroad.
Alongside ViaEmilia, now recognized as the most awarded Italian Pilsner in the world, the public also embraces beers like Freeride and Machete, which embody the innovative and bold spirit of the brewery.
